Tempest weather station in Calhoun Island measured a wind gust of 64 mph.

A line of strong to severe storms stretching along a cold front quickly developed as it extended NNE to SSW into the Rio Grande Plains and interacted with strong instability late on the April 9th into the early morning hours of the 10th. Large hail up to golf ball size was reported over the Brush Country with strong winds 40-50 mph persisting into the Gulf waters.
