Growth of this wildfire slowed considerably at the start of June with the total burned area growing nearly 80 more acres to 7,532. Evacuations were lifted by June 3rd.
Wider weather episode
The Blue 2 wildfire continued into June, but improving weather conditions slowed its growth considerably compared to it's initial activity at the end of May. Evacuations were lifted by June 3rd as crews gained 59 percent containment and activity within the burn area dwindled. Some growth was observed on June 5th with the burned area reaching 7,532 acres, but containment grew to 87 percent.
