Event narrative

Broadcast media reported 65 mph winds in Bloomsdale. Large trees fell in town with one falling on a house. There was a widespread power outage reported in Ste. Genevieve and surrounding areas. Lots of small limbs were down as well.

Wider weather episode

The bi-state region was threatened with severe thunderstorms on May 8th. Numerous supercells produced very large hail most of the day, and a small QLCS produced multiple tornadoes in southeast Missouri.
