Event narrative

A downburst hit a small stretch of Womac Road south of Route 108 knocking down 9 power poles, downing several trees, and causing roof damage to an outbuilding.

Thunderstorms congealed into a QLCS ahead of a cold front on May 21st. The line was diminishing in strength as it passed through Illinois, but it re-intensified enough to produce damaging winds in Macoupin and Bond counties.
