An area of thunderstorms across Kentucky and Tennessee tracked east-southeast into the southern Piedmont, Sandhills, and southern Coastal Plain of central North Carolina in the late afternoon and evening hours. The thunderstorm complex produced several reports of downed trees and powerlines across the southern Piedmont and Sandhills.
