Daytime highs ranged between 100 and 104 degrees on June 11 and June 12.

Wider weather episode

High pressure strengthened over central California on June 11 which resulted in daytime temperatures rising to the triple digits once again across most of the San Joaquin Valley and the lower Sierra foothills. Some cooling was noted along the west side of the valley on June 12 as an upper low pressure system approached the southern California coast although temperatures further inland remained well above normal. As the low moved inland on June 13, temperatures cooled further and remained below dangerous heat levels.
