A personal weather station located two miles east-northeast of Baldwin recorded a 62 mph wind gust. No damage was noted.

A cold front crossed the area the night of April 11, 2024 into the morning of April 12, 2024. Behind this front, northwest winds increased in speed with gusts between 59 and 68 miles per hour at some of the highest elevations of the mountains of Northwest North Carolina.
