Wider weather episode

A cold front moving through the area overnight led to the development of showers and thunderstorms. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms developed in the late afternoon and evening, with most activity waning after midnight. Storm activity developed first across the northwest Piedmont and tracked east-southeast through the mid to late evening hours over the Coastal Plain.
