Event narrative

Blizzard conditions developed during the morning hours of April 15th at Cape Romanzof (PACZ) and Chevak (PAVA) and during the afternoon hours at Mountain Village (PAMO). Strong winds with gusts to 71 mph were reported at Cape Romanzof and wind gusts to 62 mph were reported at Mountain Village. These strong winds were accompanied by visibility in blowing snow of less than a quarter of a mile.

Wider weather episode

A low moving out of the Bering Sea and to the West Coast produced snow, blizzard conditions, and strong winds to the Yukon Delta.
