Blizzard conditions developed during the early morning hours of April 3rd at Kivalina (PAVL). Wind gusts to 53 mph were reported, accompanied by visibility in blowing snow of less than a quarter of a mile.

Wider weather episode

A fast-moving Bering front pushed across the West Coast, and produced widespread snow, blizzard conditions, and gale force winds from the Yukon Delta north to Norton Sound.
