Blizzard conditions developed during the morning hours of April 2nd at Savoonga (PASA). Wind gusts to 49 mph were reported, accompanied by visibility in blowing snow of less than a quarter of a mile. In addition, wind gusts in excess of 60 mph with gusts up to 68 mph were reported at the Gambell Marine Exchange site GBXA2) beginning at 16:14 on April 2nd, peaking at 20:04, and ending at 21:24.

A fast-moving Bering front pushed across the West Coast, and produced widespread snow, blizzard conditions, and gale force winds from the Yukon Delta north to Norton Sound.
