Blizzard conditions developed during the late morning hours of April 2nd at Cape Romanzof (PACZ) and during the afternoon hours of April 2nd at Chevak (PAVA). Wind gusts to 58 mph were reported at Cape Romanzof and to 52 mph at Chevak. These winds were accompanied by visibility in blowing snow of less than a quarter of a mile.

Wider weather episode

A fast-moving Bering front pushed across the West Coast, and produced widespread snow, blizzard conditions, and gale force winds from the Yukon Delta north to Norton Sound.
