A storm system that originated in the Plains brought an associated cold front through southeast Kansas during the late afternoon and evening hours on May 21, 2024. Discreet supercells quickly congealed into a linear mode, producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in Bourbon and Crawford counties before pushing into southwest Missouri.
