A trained spotter reported measuring a total of 9 inches of snow at 3099 feet, 2 miles WNW of Ruth, CA. LAT. 40.29N, LONG. 123.44W.

A deep trough brought widespread hail showers and snow to Northwest California. Heavy snow of several feet was measured in the mountains while the hail showers resulted in numerous traffic accidents along the coast.
