Event narrative

The mesonet site at 2 WNW Fritch measured a 61mph wind gust.

Wider weather episode

A very humid and unstable environment was in place across the southeastern Texas Panhandle during the morning of April 27th. This allowed isolated storms to form and produce hail up to penny size. A Pacific cold front moved in from the west during the afternoon and evening, and brought dry and windy conditions. A few locations in the central and western Texas Panhandle gusted up to 60mph behind this front.
