A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 60 mph knocked down multiple trees onto Route 322 north of the Mifflintown exit.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed ahead of a mesoscale convective vortex (MCV) that pushed from Ohio across northern Pennsylvania. These storms produced sporadic wind damage as they pushed eastward across the area through the afternoon and evening hours on May 22, 2024.
