A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 60 mph knocked down multiple trees and wires along Interstate 80 and Long Run Road west of Rosecrans.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed ahead of a mesoscale convective vortex (MCV) that pushed from Ohio across northern Pennsylvania. These storms produced sporadic wind damage as they pushed eastward across the area through the afternoon and evening hours on May 22, 2024.
