A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 60 mph knocked down trees and wires east of the Spruce Run Road and Long Run Road intersection west of Rosecrans.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed ahead of a mesoscale convective vortex (MCV) that pushed from Ohio across northern Pennsylvania. These storms produced sporadic wind damage as they pushed eastward across the area through the afternoon and evening hours on May 22, 2024.
