The Valley Wildfire was discovered on May 21st at 1231 PM PST. The fire is located 21 miles southeast of Alturas, in the Jess Valley of the Modoc National Forest. The cause of the fire is undetermined. As of 530 AM PST on 05/30, it had burned 536 acres, was 100% contained, no structures had been destroyed, and it had cost $130K.
