Wider weather episode
After the low pressure system and multiple fronts passed through on the 11th, having caused damage to far eastern Kentucky, the system moved to the northeast, where it combined into one very strong surface low pressure system by April 12th. This system then generated a secondary boundary which moved around the west side of the low and back into Kentucky during the day of the 12th. More scattered showers and thunderstorms developed during the afternoon as a result along this boundary. One storm in Whitley County resulted in severe winds which damaged trees in the Gausdale community.
