A narrow band of 3+ inches of rainfall fell in a 2-3 hour period mainly across the southern portions of Lamoille County, leading to several reports of flash flooding. The most heavily affected area was in the Town of Stowe on Bryan and North Hollow Roads where one bridge washout and notable road damage occurred along the Gold Brook watershed. Report sources included trained spotters, law enforcement and highway departments.

An area of persistent heavy showers and thunderstorms affected an area from eastern Chittenden, Lamoille, northern Washington and western Caledonia counties during late afternoon on June 23, 2024. Reliable radar estimates and ground truth reports of 2 to 3+ inches of rainfall in a 2-3 hour window, which led to several reports of flash flooding.
