Thunderstorm winds blew over a 40 pound deck chair with a steel base and downed branches around 1.5 inches in diameter.

Wider weather episode

Following a cool spring morning, thunderstorms developed across northeastern Minnesota during the afternoon hours as a wave of energy moved into the region out of Canada. Atmospheric conditions were supportive of marginally severe wind gusts across the area and one storm produced some marginal wind damage on the east side of Superior during the late afternoon.
