Event narrative

A large tree was felled by severe thunderstorm winds. Additionally, roof shingles from the church next door were stripped off the roof. A personal weather station recorded a 60 mph wind gust during the storm.

Wider weather episode

An upper trough coupled with a strong jet streak allowed for a severe thunderstorm to produce damaging winds in East Tennessee.
