A large tree was felled by severe thunderstorm wind gusts and landed on a trailer. The tree crushed an occupant within the trailer, resulting in a fatality.

An upper trough, a shortwave, and a cold front combined in a potent environment to produce several rounds of severe thunderstorms that produced large hail and damaging winds to southwest North Carolina.
