Event narrative

A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated at 60 mph knocked down a tree onto South Kendall Avenue, blocking both lanes of traffic southeast of Bradford.

Wider weather episode

An MCV passing over Lake Erie and New York state helped to kick off scattered convection over northern and western Pennsylvania during the afternoon and evening hours of June 17, 2024. In a very warm and humid airmass with moderately high CAPE but low shear, a few of these storms produced wind damage as they pushed into the Allegheny Plateau.
