Thunderstorm winds blew down one tree on Fleming Avenue, one tree on Whittle Street, one tree on Forest Hill Avenue, and several tree limbs that were at least six inches in diameter on Yeager Avenue.

A hot and humid air mass combined with a lee trough helped to spark scattered showers and thunderstorms across southwest Virginia. Thunderstorm winds caused considerable wind damage with several trees and power lines blown down in several counties.
