Event narrative

A thunderstorm produced wind gusts estimated at 70 mph that damaged trees, power poles, and power lines along the Guadalupe-Caldwell county line near Martindale.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms developed near the triple point of low pressure center, frontal boundary, and dryline. Some of these storms produced very large hail in excess of 5 to 6 inches in diameter and produced damaging wind gusts. Monetary loss due to damage to areas of Blanco and Hays counties was likely in the tens of millions of dollars. Estimates for the City of San Marcos is near 750 thousand for debris removal, repairs to public facilities and infrastructure.
