With a mid-level trough over the Florida Peninsula, and a stationary front positioned over Central Florida, plentiful moisture and instability was in place over South Florida This resulted in numerous showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening of May 20th across South Florida, including Lake Okeechobee.
