Event narrative

A trained spotter reported several tree branches were knocked down due to thunderstorm winds.

Wider weather episode

A weak front supported the generation of storms that were occasionally severe with hail and gusty winds. Golfball hail was observed 4 miles north of Orient while several other locations observed hail to the size of quarters. Wind damage was also observed, including tree branches down in Frankfort and 4 miles south southwest of Crocker. The weather station in Redfield also observed a wind gust of 61 mph, which resulted in downed powerlines and tree damage.
