Spotter estimated 50-60 mph winds along the leading edge of the line of storms.
Wider weather episode
A strong cold front moved across Northwest Kansas producing high winds along and south of I-70 in addition to a line of thunderstorms that moved along the Nebraska state line. Both the high winds and the thunderstorm winds produced measured gusts of 58-60 mph, with the peak estimated gust of 100 mph based on a snapped power pole west of Atwood as a thunderstorm moved over the location.
