Thunderstorm winds blew down two trees and a few large branches in the Sheffield area and also another tree along Wards Ferry Road.

A hot and humid air mass combined with an approaching cold front helped to produce scattered severe thunderstorms across southwest Virginia. Thunderstorm winds blew down a considerable number of trees and power lines. The winds also knocked down a carport in Buckingham County.
