Event narrative
Two road washouts with pavement buckled in downtown Camden. Other flooded roads within the community after more than 2 inches of rain fell from a slow-moving thunderstorm.
Wider weather episode
Numerous showers and thunderstorms developed under the influence of an upper level low on the afternoon of the 8th. An area of localized convection along the Midcoast brought heavy rain to Knox County. Observations taken near Camden Maine recorded instantaneous rain rates up to 3' an hour, accumulating approximately 1.5 inches
in an hour. The heavy rainfall rates resulted in two road washouts in the Camden area.
