Strong thunderstorm winds knocked down a tree on wires on York Avenue.

Wider weather episode

A quasi-stationary front, combined with moist air overrunning, it led to showers and thunderstorms during the early morning hours near the Mohawk Valley. One storm became severe producing large hail. Later in the morning into the afternoon and early evening, thunderstorms developed along and ahead of a shortwave trough and surface cold front. A few of the storms became severe producing damaging wind gusts.
