Event narrative

NWS Riverwatch reported an ice jam had formed near Napakiak and the impounded water would be reported to flood most of the village of Napakiak. The warning was rolled into an additional warning for the reach from Napakiak upstream to Bethel. Widespread flooding of the tundra in addition to the villages along the Kuskokwim river would also be reported which caused flood waters to impound for longer periods of time without any path to drainage.
