Wind gust was measured on a weather station via WeatherFlow two miles south-southeast of the Outer Banks Fishing Pier. Wind gust occurred as thunderstorm was moving through the area.

A cold front quickly tracked eastwards across the inland and coastal waters of Eastern North Carolina on the afternoon of June 24th bringing scattered strong and damaging winds to the waters from the northern Outer Banks down to the Crystal Coast.
