Downed tree limbs reported by Middletown PD. Some roads include West Field, East Street and Yellow Birch. One report included tree limb on wires.

Wider weather episode

The area started off in the warm sector with an approaching cold front and pre-frontal trough from the west. Diurnal heating led to destabilization, with SBCAPE values reaching 2000-3000 J/kg. Thunderstorms fired up along the approaching pre-frontal trough and moved into the area. Given 40 knots of deep-layer shear, some storms were able to organize and become severe. The storms produced damaging winds across southern CT.
