Weather Station at Forte Shores Dr. reported a wind gust of 47 knots as thunderstorms were moving through the area. Report was relayed through WeatherFlow.

Wider weather episode

Isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms developed out ahead of a stalled frontal boundary across the Coastal Plain. This activity merged and became multiple linear segments that tracked eastwards across portions of the inland rivers and sounds of eastern North Carolina. Some of these storms within the line became strong in nature producing damaging wind gusts along the Pamlico River.
