Event narrative
Wind gusts behind a cold frontal passage persisted through the day with gusts generally in the 50 to 60 mph range from late morning through mid afternoon. Had some visibility restrictions down to 1 to 2 miles at times at the Idaho Falls airport and roadways. Thousands of customers lost power as reported by Rocky Mountain and Idaho Power companies. Up to 20 trees reported downed in the Idaho Falls to Rexburg with power poles and power lines downed causing the extensive power outages.
