A gust to 47 mph was recorded by the KDYT Duluth Sky Harbor airport AWOS station.

An upper level trough moving across the Upper Midwest led to the development of isolated showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours of the 5th. Most of the storms remained below severe limits, but one storm moving along the South Shore of Lake Superior was able to produce a wind gust to 47 mph at the Sky Harbor Airport.
