Trees were toppled on to power lines in Atkinson by wind gusts estimated at up to 60 mph. Some roads were blocked due to fallen trees. The time is estimated.

Record high temperatures...along with abundant moisture...contributed to afternoon instability. Thunderstorms developed across the higher terrain of the west-central highlands. An isolated storm reached severe levels across southern Piscataquis county producing damaging winds. A lightning strike in Lagrange...Penobscot county...started a structural fire. The fire significantly damaged a house and barn.
