Event narrative

Trees and power lines were toppled around Bangor by wind gusts estimated at up to 60 mph. A tree and wires were brought down on to a house at one location.

Wider weather episode

A cold front crossed the region during the afternoon of the 20th. Temperatures in the lower to mid 90s...along with abundant moisture...existed in advance of the cold front supporting instability. Thunderstorms developed in advance of the cold front...some of which reached severe levels. The severe thunderstorms produced damaging winds. The greatest severe thunderstorm impacts occurred across southern Penobscot county.
