In the midst of abnormally hot conditions around the region, strong to severe thunderstorms thrived across West Virginia on June 29th and 30th. On both days, storms initially developed during peak heating hours and progressed through the state before diminishing with the loss of daytime heating. Storm damage was mainly observed in the form of downed trees each day.
