Wider weather episode

On the afternoons of July 14th and 16th, eastward progressing thunderstorm complexes ventured into West Virginia and brought strong to severe storms through the state. Downed trees and power lines were most common on both days as damaging wind gusts accompanied the convection. The risk for severe weather remained brief both days as activity quickly pivoted east into Virginia and Maryland by the evening.
