The Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network site (Brazos Santiago) just inshore of South Padre Island recorded a peak wind gust of 34 kts. These winds were connected to Tropical Storm Alberto.

The difference between strong high pressure (for mid June) over the southeast U.S. and low pressure/Tropical Storm Alberto near Tampico produced a few tropical storm wind gusts from outer bands over the lower Laguna Madre waters and the nearshore Gulf waters on June 19th, 2024.
