Drought — Metro Broward County, Florida

2024-06-04 to 2024-06-18 · Metro Broward County, Florida

Event narrative

Lack of significant rainfall over the previous 2 months led to the development of severe drought (D2) conditions over metro Broward County which persisted through mid-June. Less than 3 inches of rain was measured in many areas from April 1st through May 31st. This was approximately 35% of the normal value for that time period. Increased rainfall associated with a tropical wave in mid-June eliminated all drought conditions by June 18th.
