Power lines were blown down by thunderstorm winds on Springwood Road, resulting in a small fire with no collateral damage.

Wider weather episode

Ahead of an approaching cold front, a few thunderstorms formed in the anomalously saturated pre-frontal environment. Only one storm became severe, knocking down powerlines which led to a fire.
