A 56-year-old woman was hiking on a trail near Quail Creek State Park and reportedly ran out of water. When found by first responders the woman was unresponsive, and despite attempting life-saving measures, she ultimately did not survive. Wider weather episode
A largely ridge-dominated pattern persisted, resulting in anomalously warm temperatures. These hot temperatures resulted in at least one instance of a heat related fatality. Despite the strong ridge, enough moisture continued to work into the area and help in the development of diurnal convection, some of which resulted in flash flooding over more rain sensitive areas.
