A tree was blown down by thunderstorm winds onto a power line along Cliff View Road.

A cold front moved into southwest Virginia early on June 30th, proceeding to stall out near the Blue Ridge mountains. The front interacted with a unstable, highly saturated environment to create scattered thunderstorms in southwest Virginia. Some of these storms produced damaging winds.
