Event narrative

Shingles were blown off of a house and nearby small barn by thunderstorm winds on Wheatland Road. In addition, seven trees were blown down by the thunderstorm winds.

Wider weather episode

A cold front interacted with an environment destabilized by strong diurnal heating and enhanced by orographic effects, to create scattered thunderstorms over the mountains. One storm was severe, producing minor property damage and downing trees.
