Severe thunderstorm outflow winds downed a tree blocking State Route 124 in Mechanic Falls.

Wider weather episode

Hot and unstable conditions were in place across the region. An approaching upper level trough provided the ingredients to include shear for organized convection. A few severe storms developed across Southern Maine bringing sporadic wind damage.
